Alliances
We have been part of the United Nations Global Compact since 2018. During 2022 we made progress in the four core areas of Human Rights, Labor Standards, Environment and Anti-Corruption.
In 2021 we announced our adhesion to the Alliance for Climate Action (ACA Chile), focusing on energy and water efficiency in waste management and promoting the end of single-use plastics.
Recognitions
• Marcas Ciudadanas
For the seventh consecutive year, we led the "Shopping Centers and Mall" category of the Citizen Brands Ranking, in its 2023 version. The measurement highlights the work done by national brands in terms of empathy, as a "central element to ensure that they are present, relevant and that their contribution to society is perceived".
• Merco ESG Responsibility
The Corporate Reputation Business Monitor (Merco) released the results of its 2022 ESG Chile ranking, recognizing Mallplaza among the 100 most environmentally, employee, customer, social, ethical and governance responsible companies. In this measurement, we ranked first in the Real Estate-Retail category, while in the overall measurement, we ranked 30th, which meant an increase of four positions compared to the previous year.
• Chile 3D
The 2023 version of the Chile 3D study, conducted by the consulting firm GfK, positioned us as the most valued shopping center brand by Chileans, leading the Malls category.
• Impulsa Award
In 2023, we received the Impulsa Award in its eighth version, placing us among the companies with the best indicators in gender diversity. This is a very relevant area within our company, where we have recently reinforced our commitment to generate opportunities for the autonomous development of each of our stakeholders, considerably increasing female participation.
• Omnichannel Index Ranking
We remain leaders for the second consecutive year in Kawes Lab's Omnichannel Index Ranking, within the Shopping Malls category, demonstrating the consolidation of our omnichannel capabilities during 2023, being recognized for the experience we deliver to our business partners and visitors. In addition, in the overall evaluation, Mallplaza ranked No. 5 out of the 265 companies analyzed and No. 2 among the IPSA companies.
• Mi Compromiso Pyme
We received the "Mi Compromiso Pyme" seal from Unión Emprendedora and the consulting firm EY. This seal seeks to promote the growth of small and medium-sized companies in Chile, generating links with large companies, so that they prefer local SMEs as suppliers. Given the long-term work with entrepreneurs in Chile, Peru and Colombia, Mallplaza is one of the companies that is part of this initiative, committing to empower Chilean entrepreneurs through training and marketing spaces, which would allow them to become business partners of our urban centers.
• Bio Ciudad Award
We were recognized by Aguas Andinas with the Bio Ciudad Award, thanks to our work in reducing the consumption of drinking water in our operation, an action that results from our commitment to the planet and is in line with the actions carried out within our ESG strategy.
• Cero Basura Award
Less than a year after its launch, Mallplaza Egaña's Plaza 0 initiative has already been recognized for its positive impact on climate action. This time, it was the Zero Waste Award that recognized it with first place in the Cultural Change category.
• Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI)
For 5 consecutive years we have been present in the Chile and MILA indexes of the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI).
• MSCI ESG Rating
In July 2023 Mallplaza obtained an AA rating in the MSCI Rating which also highlights the maximum score of 10 points obtained in human capital development.
• Equidad Chile, Fundación Iguales
We obtained the Equidad CL 2024 Certification as one of the best places to work for LGBTIQ+ talent, by Human Rights Campaign, Fundación Iguales and Pride Connection Chile.
• Pride Connection
We were awarded category A as part of the Pride Connection radiography: diagnosis on diversity and inclusion with a focus on sexual and gender diversity, which aims to detect gaps and opportunities for improvement in the management of processes and initiatives in each organization.
