Cali, 21 March 2024.- Mallplaza took an important step forward in its regional expansion after starting the process of opening its urban center in Cali, Colombia.
The facility, with over 60,000 m2, opened with 91% of its GLA leased, of which 70% will be available to visitors in the first days of operation.
Mallplaza Cali stands out for its robust value proposition, bringing together the national and international brands people value most, such as IKEA – the first in the city of Cali and the Cauca Valley – Zara, H&M, Bershka, Stradivarius, Pull&Bear, Decathlon and Homecenter, among others.
This powerful retail mix is strengthened by the entertainment proposition, occupying 7,000 m2 with operators like Afrika and Cinemark, which has 8 movie theaters with state-of-the-art technology. This is complemented with the gastronomy segment and the innovative “El Mercado” format, with local, regional and homemade cooking with the best experience in one place.
Mallplaza Cali also has 13,000 m2 of public spaces, thanks to a park that was incorporated into the urban center, adding to a unique architecture integrated into the surroundings in a privileged location in the heart of the city.
This is one of the most important projects in the city and a clear example of the greenfield growth that Mallplaza develops. It is expected to become the city’s preferred shopping center.
Regarding its contribution to the local economy, Mallplaza Cali will create 1,600 new indirect and direct jobs, mainly favoring people who live near the shopping center, which are added to the 1,400 that were created during the construction phase.
“Mallplaza Cali is the result of our company’s commitment to Colombia. Together with our tenants, we hope Mallplaza Cali will boost commerce, employment and the local economy,” said Mauricio Mendoza, Mallplaza Peru and Colombia division manager.
