- Mallplaza joins the initiative “SiEmpre por Chile,” promoted by the CPC and Movidos por Chile, contributing food hampers to benefit over 9,700 families in 11 municipalities in Santiago, Antofagasta, Copiapó and Concepción.
Santiago, 22 May 2020 – Over 9,700 families from the territories where Mallplaza has a presence will receive a box of staple foods as part of the shopping center company’s social actions to accompany neighbors who have been hit the hardest by the economic effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.
This morning, Mallplaza Tobalaba assistant manager Alejandro Ramirez delivered the first 250 of a total of 750 food hampers to Puente Alto Mayor Germán Codina to begin their distribution to the most vulnerable neighbors in the municipality.
“At Mallplaza we know our neighbors and communities and are aware that the health crisis is also impacting them economically, especially our most vulnerable neighbors. For this reason, we will be providing over 750 food hampers here in Puente Alto over the next three months,” Mallplaza Tobalaba deputy manager Alejandro Ramirez said.
Puente Alto mayor Germán Codina, said: “We appreciate all of the efforts by public-private alliances, which at this moment I believe show that tenacity, strength, and solidarity that characterize our country and we are grateful. This public-private alliance between the Municipality, Movidos x Chile and Mallplaza allows us to receive 250 food hampers per month through July, which will go directly to the assistance of so many neighbors in need.”
“We believe that this articulation between Mallplaza, the CPC and Movidos x Chile is an example of a Chile in transformation, beginning with the willingness, support and commitment to generate a chain of solidarity and go in support of families that are currently in economic difficulties because of the pandemic,” said Pablo Flores of Movidos x Chile.
The initiative will be replicated in different cities around the country, renewing the commitment Mallplaza has had to its neighboring communities in its 29 years of history.
