The company begins its process with the SBTi and also introduces its first Scope 3 emissions target, reinforcing its commitment to science-based environmental management.
Santiago, Chile, 16 December 2025 – Plaza S.A. (BCS: PLAZA). Mallplaza has taken a new step forward in its sustainability roadmap by formally committing to develop and validate its emissions reduction targets through the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), an international organization that promotes corporate climate action aligned with science.
With this milestone, Mallplaza reaffirms its commitment to advancing toward increasingly responsible operations, incorporating international standards that enable rigorous and transparent measurement and management of its environmental impacts.
As part of this process, the company will also introduce its first Scope 3 emissions reduction target, which addresses its extended value chain and seeks to strengthen collaborative efforts with tenants, suppliers and strategic partners. This new target complements the work already underway on operational emissions (Scopes 1 and 2), reinforcing Mallplaza’s decarbonization strategy and expanding collaborative action across its entire value chain.
“At Mallplaza, we are driving a long-term sustainability strategy focused on creating value in every city where we operate. Initiating this process with the SBTi is a clear signal of our intention to move forward with concrete, science-aligned targets. The inclusion of our Scope 3 target allows us to broaden this commitment and work collaboratively to achieve real emissions reductions throughout our entire value chain,” said Renato Fernández, Public Affairs and Sustainability Manager at Mallplaza.
