The measure seeks to reconcile the interests of visitors, tenants and employees and is leveraged on the flexibility in opening hours promoted by the company.
Starting in June, the opening hours for smaller stores will be Monday to Thursday from 10:00 to 20:00; Fridays and Saturdays from 10:30 to 21:00 and Sundays from 11:00 to 20:00.
Santiago, 16 May 2023.- Mallplaza has decided to make the operating hours of its 17 urban centers in the country more flexible, taking its customers’ new and diverse needs and the visiting times by people and employees into consideration, in addition to aligning department stores with specialty retail.
The measure reduces the opening ours for retail stores by 2 hours a week to facilitate the gradual implementation of the 40-hour workweek law in the next 5 years, in addition to taking into account the different behavioral dynamics that have been observed among visitors to Mallplaza’s urban centers.
The new opening hours reflect the flexibility in opening hours that Mallplaza is promoting, anchored in people’s different needs on each day of the week and during the day and night, considering its multiple-use urban centers with extended opening hours and their location.
“We are very happy with this decision, as it gives account of the collaborative work we have been doing with the different actors involved to adapt our operation and improve the quality of life of the workers at the 17 urban centers that we have across the country, without ceasing to serve our visitors,” Mallplaza Operations Manager Antonio Braghetto explained.
Thus, starting on 1 June, the new opening hours for smaller stores will be: Monday to Thursday from 10:00 to 20:00; Fridays and Saturdays from 10:30 to 21:00 and Sundays from 11:00 to 20:00.
In addition to this, exceptional measures were taken for those urban centers with special territorial conditions, either for security reasons or the availability of public transport, which has caused its visiting public to prefer other visiting times. This is the case with Mallplaza Alameda in the Metropolitan Region, Mallplaza Los Angeles and Mallplaza Biobio, both in the Biobio Region, which will have special opening hours from 09:30 to 19:30 Mondays to Sundays.
