Mallplaza included over 5,300 entrepreneurs and sellers in its commercial value proposition, recycling spaces and inaugurating a new category in the industry

  • After posting positive results in the last quarter, Mallplaza reinforces its optimistic outlook at meeting with investors.

26 February 2021 – At its meeting with national and international investors this morning, the shopping center company with a presence in Chile, Peru and Colombia highlighted the sustained recovery that its operation experienced in 4Q2002, stressing that both its tenants’ sales as well as visitor flows are constantly increasing, in line with the evolution of the Covid-19 pandemic. Mallplaza registered a 145% increase in visitors compared to the previous quarter, with a flow of 52 million people between October and December 2020.

“The timely decision to support our tenants with a long-term perspective, along with the capacity to make administrative expenses more efficient while at the same time quickly developing a complete omnichannel infrastructure to build new business and maintain the relationship with customers, has yielded positive results in the company’s financial performance and has allowed us to maintain 94% occupancy considering the same malls,” Executive Vice President Fernando de Peña said.

In addition, the company has reinforced its comprehensive value proposition by incorporating entrepreneurs and sellers as a new permanent category in its commercial mix, recycling and renovating new spaces inside its shopping centers in Chile, Peru and Colombia. The innovation is materialized in the implementation of seasonal Pop-Up fairs and “Plaza Emprende” shops where groups of entrepreneurs reuse premises within the shopping centers, enhancing the commercial offering and customer experience.

Thus, Mallplaza incorporated over 5,3000 entrepreneurs and sellers into its urban centers in 2020, with differentiating propositions in the healthy foods, agrifood, personal care, crafts, design, decoration, entertainment and pet products categories, offering new product and services alternatives to visitors along with acting as a reactivator of the local economy in Chile, Peru and Colombia.
