The company’s commitment to responsible management of environmental, social and corporate governance dimensions earned it the top acknowledgement in the Real Estate-Retail category. In came in 30th in the overall ranking.
Santiago, 20 April 2023.- The Business Corporate Reputation Monitor (Merco, for its Spanish acronym) released the results of its 2022 Chile ESG ranking, recognizing Mallplaza as among the 100 companies most responsible toward the environment (E); workers, customers and society (S), and in terms of ethics and governance (G).
The company, which has 25 urban centers in Chile, Peru and Colombia, came in first place in the Real Estate-Retail category and 30th in the overall ranking, climbing four positions compared to the previous year.
The Merco ranking was prepared between August 2022 and April 2023 through over 33,500 surveys and a review of each company’s policies to evaluate key dimensions related to their governance, responsibility toward employees, environmental commitment and contribution to the community.
In the case of Mallplaza, the company has an ESG strategy that follows Environmental, Social and Governance guidelines, including climate change and respect for human rights. Thus, its implementation has focused on the dimensions of Climate Action, Entrepreneurship and Diversity and Inclusion. Mallplaza also has an efficient reporting system that allows anticipating and managing the risks and opportunities associated with its activity.
This acknowledgement is added to Mallplaza’s continued presence on the Chile and MILA indexes of the Dow Jones Sustainability Index since 2019, reflecting its firm conviction to continue building a robust ESG strategy.
