Mallplaza reactivates new urban center project in Concón

  • The project will be built entirely in this municipality and seeks to improve its inhabitants’ quality of life, bringing them closer to its food and beverage, retail and services offering, in addition to reducing neighbors’ travel times to other commercial sectors.
  • This new urban center’s preliminary project, part of the company’s growth and investment plan in Chile, was submitted this Tuesday, kicking off the first stage of the process.

Santiago, 19 August 2026.- Mallplaza, a company with urban centers in Chile, Peru and Colombia, began the municipal permitting process for the preliminary project of a new urban center in Concón, after completing an initial outreach stage with the municipal authorities and residents of Bosques de Mar, the community where this development is located.

The space seeks to contribute to the municipality’s positive growth and its quality of life with a project designed to a high urban standard that is relevant to the local reality and consistent with the way that Concón has defined its development. It considers a leasable area of around 50,000 m2 and about 200 commercial premises.

“We are very happy to be moving forward with this initiative, which we are sure will contribute to Concón’s quality of life and positive growth. We are now in a position to offer an urban center that adapts to the new context in the municipality and incorporates neighbors’ new needs, bringing them closer to food and beverage options, services, cinema and a safe place with entertainment, coexisting in harmony with the environment and enhancing Concón’s traditional vocation for tourism,” the company stated.

The proposal considers neighbors’ needs regarding the area’s growth, such as open spaces, terraces, boulevard areas and a pedestrian connection. All this with a high-standard of urban development, in line with a municipality that ranks among the top 10 in the country in terms of quality of life thanks to improvements in the urban environment, employment, connectivity and business environment.

“At Mallplaza the motto is Going Out Is to Live and for this reason our future urban center in Concón will become a place for social encounter, built to the local scale, low height, a neighborhood dimension and a “lifestyle” format that primarily considers intermediate stores, terraces, food and beverages, entertainment, public and private services and with a high architectural standard that revitalizes and contributes to the urban space,” the company declared.

The project will help to reduce trips to other municipalities, in addition to creating local work and entrepreneurship opportunities. The initiative is currently in an initial stage, which includes engagement with local communities and technical meetings with the local authorities, seeking to move forward along a shared roadmap that adequately addresses the different components of its processing and future construction. The company will inform the project’s details once its formal development milestones have been completed.
